July Provision

Home Based Programme 2016

Update: 18 November 2016

The Department would like to thank all parents and tutors who took part in the 2016 July Programme and wishes to inform them that the 2016 programme is now closed. The last of the exceptional payments to certain tutors will issue on the 01 December.

As the section is closed and the staff re-assigned to other duties, the Department can no longer offer a telephone contact service but only an email account ( for any miscellaneous queries until the 31 December 2016 after which the account will automatically close. It is envisaged that any email received after the 18 November will receive a reply within 7 working days.

July Education Programme

The scheme provides funding for an extended school year for children with a severe or profound general learning disability or children with autism. The extended year is more commonly known as July Provision or the July Education Programme. Where school-based provision is not feasible, home-based provision may be granted.

Where an eligible school participates in the programme, an extra month's education is provided to a pupil who meets the scheme's criteria. Where school-based provision is not feasible, 40 hours home-based provision may be grant aided.
